The version in The Cruel Wars is the same version as the one of Anthems in Eden, as detailed by Malcolm Douglas, so I think it's pretty clearly the author's preference.More to the point (since songs should always be allowed to change), at least in my ears, the original lines work better than the variants quoted. ("Go seed" might read more logically than "go see", but a line ending in "seed" followed by one starting with "the" doesn't run as well.)
