My god that's sad news. Not seen Mary perform for many years but have very fond memories from way back as Derek Schofield and Raggytash have said. Manchester's Black Lion club with Pete Farrow, the Unicorn and Ring 'o' Bells in Middleton spring to mind. Mary had a fantastic bluesy voice and have a tape of her in my collection which i too must transfer to cd at some point. One of the legends of the Manchester folk scene. Sleep in peace Mary!
