Thread Name: Sue's report on Sept trip to Ireland!
Subject: RE: Sue's report on Sept trip to Ireland!
Jim - to be honest, I found the workshop so-so... it was quite short, and more of a song than a voice workshop, with songsheets handed out and singing from these mostly. although we did all sing one verse each of a song we knew. I think everyone else was local (and Irish!), they made me very welcome. Sorry I couldn't stay on the next day for more sessions, but had to book ferry on that day for various complicated reasons...
Guess I was just unlucky with tracking down song sessions while travelling - I did ask around a lot locally... maybe they're a secret kept from "visitors"!?

Fergie - was it you I spoke to on the phone? I did ask the chap hosting who you were, and he pointed you out, but you were at that time busy attending to the woman who'd hurt her head...

All the "zero-seconds"...no way for me to know who you were... I arrived late and disoriented at that first session (had a horrible time finding my way into Dublin from the motorway). I was a bit too shy and overcome to actually sing in that huge room full of strangers, sorry!

Peter - yes, I know what you mean, the chatter overpowered everything at times... enjoyed the evening music and sessions (though not enough songs for me!) - but the best bit, as I said, was doing the tin whistle class, alongside several small children and a couple of adults (again, think I was the only non-local!). I have a few nice pics of the event.

Anyone know of any singers' festivals/weekends coming up in next few months, please let me know, as flights can be cheap...

Sue
