Hi,

This is just a spin-off above the line from this thread BS: Floods UK: All ok?:

Hi,
Crow Sister

> "I live right on the top of a hill... There's a dreadful puddle outside my front gate though."

Don't say things like that. It does no good for my headache to have a song bursting out. (Plus, next thing you know, they're going to ask me to write out the tune.)

At the Top of a Hill (Mysha: Peter Hans van den Muijzenberg)

Our family lives inside a mill
We all live together at the top of a hill
(It's) High and dry and the view is great
But there's a dreadful puddle outside our gate

Sometimes in winter, when the rain really pours,
A clowder of cats comes to our doors,

Our family lives inside a mill
With the cats, [meeauw]
We all live together at the top of a hill
It's high and dry and the view is great
But there's a dreadful puddle outside our gate

Sometimes, in winter, when the rain really pours,
A pack of dogs comes to our doors,

Our family lives inside a mill
With the dogs, [ruff] [ruff],
and the cats, [meeauw],
We all live together at the top of a hill
It's high and dry and the view is great
But there's a dreadful puddle outside our gate

Etc.
flock of sheep [meeeh]
drift of pigs [gnor] [gnor]
kine of cows [mooo]
herd of horses [nihihihi]
dole of doves [rookookoo]

Sometime in spring when the weather is dry,
It's time for us to say
[goodbye]
[rookookoo]
[nihihihi]
[mooo]
[gnor] [gnor]
[meeeh]
[ruff][ruff]
[meeauw]

Our family lives inside a mill
We all live together at the top of a hill
(It's) High and dry and the view is great
But there's a dreadul puddle outside our gate

Obviously, a horde of hamsters, a husk of hares, a wisdom of owls, etc. will fit in as well, as long as you happen to know what sound they make. And for the more adventurous the same goes for the pod of porpoises, parcel of penguins, parade of elephants, the float of crocodiles, tower of giraffes, and flight of dragons ([woosh]?).

(Feel free to post the correct ways to write down animals noises in English; that's something I'm not overly familiar with.)

Bye,
