So, I clicked on the popup, you were right, EB, and I downloaded the latest update to version 9. Great, opened the saved to file .exe, started the install process which is where it then tells me "AVG Setup is checking your internet connection, please wait." This is in a box which came up when I clicked on Install and is titled, "AVG Download Manager." In the time it took me to type this and correct typos, it is still running a "Connectivity Check!"
