Firecat, this is my advise to anyone who wants really long hair. I speak from my own experience. If it's long enough to hang down into a garbage disposal while you're working at the kitchen sink, it's too long.

Also from my own experience. Sitting on your hair is not much fun either. It's a gastly experience when you sit on your hair and in doing so, your head gets yanked way back into an unnatural position and then you can't get up. It's not much fun getting it stuck in car doors either.
