I've been following the stories about De Montfort Hall on the Leicester Mercury website, and so I was aware of this row over the demolition of the bridge, but I assumed they were talking about Bow Bridge. I never knew anything about Bowstring Bridge, though now I've seen the pictures I rfealise I used to see it regularly while at DMU. IMO, it's not particularly attractive...why has there been such a fight over its destruction?
