Thanks for your speedy response to my post.
My version of the song is not as morbid ws the one you know of.
If it had been I wouldn't have sung it for so long. Mine is probably
the later Giordano version.
A rough translation goes like this.
The window which was lighted is lit no more.A sign that my Nina has died. Her sister comes to the window and says she has died of a broken heart.She was always crying. Go into the church and open hewr coffin ,you will see her beauty is no longer there. The lips that were once so red are now so pale. Go to the verger and ask him to light a candle for her.
No mention of the worms coming from her mouth.
More tender words for what for me is a lovely tune.
