Thread Name: Some of Janie's Field Recordings
Subject: Some of Janie's Music recordings
Disclaimer. I am not a musician or performer - I just like to sing, mostly on my back porch late at night. Keep that in mind if you choose to listen. I understand it ain't great music, but after posting here for so many years, want to share this bit of me and finally have the confidence to do so.

The recordings are all quick and crude Garage Band recordings that I have uploaded to webfilehost.com. When you click on the links, look at the bottom of the sidebar on the right. There will be a message that says "please wait to download....and it will tick off about 50 seconds. Then a download button will appear.

Little Sally Walker Down in New Orleans
Based on the traditional song/childrens' rhyme, "Little Sally Walker," I wrote the lyrics for all but the first and last verse. The tune is from a fragment of a song I remember a friend singing and playing back in the mid 1960's based on, but different from the lyric versions of "Little Sally Walker" found in the DT. I have a tendency to mishear and misremember tunes so don't know if it is the same exact tune she sang or not. After doing some web research, I think the tune and last verse may be attributable to Jim Kweskin - a modification of a common "singsong" cadence and chant for many childrens' rhymes. There is more information about "Little Sally Walker" on another thread "Origins: Little Sally Walker."
