Here is Kansas City you could buy dried-up, expensive nuts in small plastic packages in food stores.
I thought I'd try the nuts from the 'natural' food store once, but they were even worse - mildewed. (Maybe it was natural mildew.)
Or you could do what those in the know do. You buy them in big packages through a not-for-profit organization which obtains them from suppliers out in the countryside. Then you keep them in the deepfreeze till the next autumn, when you support another worthy cause.
