Yup, we were there . . and had a great week. Best Sidmouth we can recall, musically . . The Suzanne Sevanne (?sp - the Galician piper) concert was one of those rare moments of musical perfection, to be compared with the June Tabor Radway Cinema concert of many years ago. Of course there was the odd "damp squibb" - we decided to see if the Albion Band were as irrelevent as when we last heard them; that was a mistake, they were even worse (despite some fine fiddle playing)! Mind you, there's a wondeful irony there; the band that Hutchings founded to bring an "English" dimension to "Folk-Rock" (in contrast to the "Jigs and reels" of Fairport and Steeleye) now only approaches life when playing its "celtic" numbers (and is "blessed" with a "production line" mid-atlantic vocalist . .)

Ooh, I feel BETTER for that spleen-venting . .
