I mean, I know comparisons are odious & all that: but J Mitchell seems to me to be up there in public regard with the likes of the really important singer-songwriters [Paxton, Bogle, et al]: & I really cannot see why. Their messages, re personal relationships & FX of war respectively, genuinely make a contribution to important public attitudes. What was Joni's contribution?
