No-one mentioned "WASN'T THAT A PARTY" by Tom Paxton, or "Out behind the Gypsy's" (although that's more a pot-head song)? Highly recommended. There's something from one of my gran's songbooks called "A SONG OF WATER" which is pretty good too (although I've got to update the lyrics slightly since they're showing their Victorian origins a bit).

More depressing - you've always got "FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK", or Beautiful South's "Woman in the wall".
