Subject: RE: Quasimodal Chorus Concert - Maine, USA 6 Dec
Here's the latest press release of our concert. Note that Kat Logan, Will Brown, and Gordon Bok (In the Quasimodal Chorus) also appeared on the "Singing Through the Hard Times" Utah Phillips tribute cd that has been nominated for a Grammy Award. Shophi Ngidi has a beautiful and powerful voice and an infectious sense of humor.

Anne Dodson and Friends Holiday Program celebrates its 22nd consecutive season on Sunday, December 6th at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary of the First Congregational Church in Camden. Once again it is the closing event of "Christmas by the Sea," Camden's annual weekend of holiday festivities, as it brings performers and audience together in a shared community event.

This year a cast of returning participants joins Anne, including The Quasimodal Chorus, Matt Szostak, Will Brown and David Dodson.

New on the docket for this year are Kat Logan and Jim Loney. Jim and Kat have been performing throughout the state over the last 25 years. Jim was previously a member of the The Toasters, The Bluetonics, and Primo Cubano. Kat has performed with numerous bands and both are known for their writing and solo work. They moved to Friendship in April, married in June and now perform together with an eclectic program that includes Americana, folk, blues, Celtic and original tunes.

Also new for this years concert is Shophi Ngidi. Hailing from South Africa, Shophi is well known for her powerful vocals and Zulu dance style from the Umbumbulu region of KwaZulu. Rare in this tradition, Shophi learned traditional drumming from her father, Joesph Ngidi. Thulani Shabalala, a member of Lady Smith Black Mambazo and son of the bands founder Joseph Shabalala, is helping Shophi produce a new recording due out in late 2009. She will be performing solo and with the Quasimodal Chorus.
