When I was in college, I used to work Christmas eve in grocery stores...but we closed early. It was a VERY busy day, but people were often pleasant as they planned holiday meals.

When I was VERY young, (12-14)...I delivered newspapers every day of the year. Paper boys in a small city were known personally by customers, and I often got tips & cookies.
