Actually Joe, she'd passed over NYC several hours before......the strollers had long since gone home. I dunno....Maybe a few had driven on down to Lakehurst in the hope of seeing babies tossed overboard from a couple of thousand feet up..............
You DO know Joe that I'm just screwin' with you here............I was though going to ask about the AV Zep because I knew it was not too far removed from your usual haunts. There are a number of other projects underway to bring back the rigid design and even the worst of them look better than the average blimp! So far though, none come close in size or grace to the post WWI Zeps/Rigids such as the Shenandoah or the Hindenburg or the US buillt Macon which was the first one to use (albeit shortly ----LOL) the hangar built for her at Moffett NAS These were over twice the size of the AV airship, between 680 and 804 feet long. The extreme size contributed to the crash of the Shenandoah in 1925.
Is the hangar the same one that was built back then? Some of those still exist.
