From what I understand A dog was stolen from it's owner and taken a long distance away. Dog runs away and retuns to origional owner. At this point I am not sure if owner has died and dog lies by the grave but at sone point they are burried side by side possible name of dog is ------Bobby?? Story made into a book?? Film?? Sound familiar??
