I agree with Carol, if you're working around the house and yard a lot, into water, etc, it's a real challenge to keep the skin from that cracking and bleeding stage. I've tried a lot of different lotions and ointments this fall to try to head off the dry skin. I have the ones that seem to work best by the bedside, some in the kitchen, and some in my shoulder pack.
