I use a store brand of lotion to keep my fingertips from cracking. I also put it on my feet to prevent calluses, and on a some little rough spots on my temple & elbow, FWIW (probably not much). The bottle has lasted probably 10 years.

Other goop: I use Palmolive dish detergent (recommended by Chemical & Engineering News) for my skin as well. I have antibiotic salve to prevent ear infections, and hydrocortisone to prevent ear dermatitis, and pink stuff to keep my partial denture attached. Next to my bed I have several kinds of lubricant in case I ever get laid again.
