Now let's discuss why I find The Giving Tree so appalling. No, let's not!
But "indulge" me for a few posts. ;~)
Some people really love this book for its message of total self-sacrifice.
But I've always had a nagging suspicion that it is not healthy to be so indulgent to a child, that there needs to be limits and parents, as well as other caregivers, have a responsibility to teach those as well.
