MtheGM, I think I understand a bit better now the difference between your experience of things and my own, at least. I love Beckett. It sounds like you're only seeing the surface of the things written by people like Sendak and Beckett. For me, there are many layers of subtext, and that's what makes the works of authors like them so compelling.
