My son and I loved the Giving Tree. He recognized that the boy/man was selfish but loved the idea that someone was always there for him.
Keep in mind, he had no one for years.
Probably most important, as a none reader, he could pretend to read "and the tree was happy" at every appropriate time.


But we both preferred The Twits. LOL
