Virginia, I have a pair of gloves just like you describe. A friend of mine was here last week and gave them to me--they're one of her pairs. She buys them at resale shops, and they're the type you describe. I'll see about the zinc oxide--I have a tube and I think it doesn't go bad. It's also good for if you're catching a cold (zinc lozenges). Maybe if I'd been treating my hands earlier I wouldn't have caught this cold?

I'm about over it, but it hasn't let go completely. I had to go take a nap this afternoon, the kind where you pull your covers up over your head so the whole thing can warm up. (Just don't fart while you're under there!) ;-D
