Thread Name: another girl scout tune about cabin by a stream
Subject: RE: another girl scout tune
Back in my girlscout days...around 1963....at Camp Pottowatami, in Indiana, we learned a song from Smokey and Trees called:

Green Valley
I saw a little green valley,
with a carpet of corn for a floor,
and I heard a voice within me whisper
                This is worth living for.

I saw a little log cabin
with a river that runs by it's door,
and I heard a voice within me whisper
                   this is worth living for
Didn't I build that cabin,
didn't I plant that corn
didn't my fathers, before me
fight for this country before I was born
I gathered my loved ones around me
and I gazed at each face I adored
and I heard a voice within me thunder
                this is worth living for.

What a hoot....I have been trying to remember the words for nearly 30 years, I was going to ask if anyone remembered this one, and as I typed, the words just came to me. :)
