Well, the sticker price is always BS, and so is the "I gotta go consult with the sales manager" ploy. There are a number of sites out there, at least in the US, that claim that they can give you the actual dealer's cost so that you can use that in negotiations - there is a fee for that information (of course!). My bank (USAA) will negotiate on your behalf and claims that they can get the best possible price - I've never tried that, but my sister did and was very satisfied.
