It's quite possible the thief doesn't even think of his helping himself to your firewood as theft per se. He may be operating under the misconception that your firewood is something you gathered at no charge and, thus, has no real monetary value. Perhaps he needs to be told that you have to pay real money for your firewood just like you have to pay real money for the gasoline in your car's tank. Some people are stupid and need stuff 'splained to 'em.
