Night Owl said, when and if you excavate, cast iron does not burn. Also, when she got down to the very last of the rubble, she found her dulcimer and a few LPs which survived. She had to clean them up, but they made it. It didn't seem as if anything would have so those few things really counted for a lot for her.

She also said she was glad to hear you have each other and that you are supportive of each other. She thinks that would really help, as she went through it alone.
