The song is much older than that, of course, going back to the early 1920's, but I don't know the age of that particular verse. The only time I've heard that verse is on a very old LP entitled "Gentlemen, Be Seated!" It's a reproduction of a complete minstrel show. I've had the album since it came out, I think in the late 50's. It's available used on line - Amazon.com has it listed. The song is on there performed by jazz great Osie Johnson. He does three verses - the one about the ship and the one about Barney Google, both of which are well known, plus the virtually unknown one about Mike McCann.
