IT's been the longest Xmas week ever; all day Monday was spent in a dreamlike tarantella with scores of cousins, nephews, and distant family connections who gathered to celebrate the life of my recent brother; it was one helluva day. I gave some remarks and sang The Parting Glass; Barky performed Taps and was told multiple times it was the best "Taps" ever performed. We did The Saints together as an end-piece and then all the cousins, nephews, sisters, daughters, in-laws and such gathered at a nearby motel and drank. AN amazing day. Bleary and still somewhat rattled from emotion, we climbed out of bed at five AM and drove from Grass Valley to San Diego. Whoooof!!!
