Ahhhh, the Stooges were an Ann Arbor, Michigan band that was perhaps the first of the punk bands... Their lead singer, Iggy Pop, was the most outrageous peformer that I had ever seen... The night I saw him in Detroit in 1968 he came on stage without a shirt, then as the set got underway started to rub raw hamburger meat all over his body, including in his pants and then jumped off the stge into the middle of the audience... Don't ask me???

I rememeber that night well becuase before it was over I ended up arrested and thrown in a Detroit jail on the charges of suspicion of armed robbery... Don't ask... It's a long story that really has no decent punch line to it...
