Help:
"The turtle lives twixt plated decks,
Which serve to conceal its sex
I think it _________
For the turtle,
in such a fix,
to be so fertile.

This is an Ogden Nash poem, and I cannot for the life of me remember the missing word. Anybody else with turtles on the brain (the good version of turtles on the brain). I keep think the word is "odd", but with Nash it should perhaps rhyme with "fix". Maybe there is a line missing. Help please.
