Guest, 999 - but it's worth it! The two double 'Folk Friends' albums Phil recommends are certainly worth having, if not so much for Hannes' own music. My 94-year-old friend and I had great fun on Christmas day, listening to and singing along with The Internationale and Hannes' and Guy Carawan's 'macaronic' version of 'BrĂ¼der seht die rote Fahne / Hold the Fort'. They were the only Christmas songs we did.

Hannes Wader has been a force in German political songwriting for over 40 years now. He is still turning out strongly left-wing material, but I for one think that his more recent albums are as good as the earlier ones concerning both the music, the lyrics and the voice. It isn't all propaganda (never was, not his self-penned songs at any rate).

I don't copy albums still available commercially, but if you have specific interests I might be able to help you with, PM me.
