I heard this sung recently and the first line had something about a beard (instead of "leer"?). And I don't think Wigan was mentioned. I suppose that's what the folk process does (so you can take pride in this, Clive). It went down well in a folk club, anyway.

And ignore the troll "Mr Lambert" above - the word "flasher" wasn't used in this sense until the 1960s.
