"the future ... European system" - the present system covers most of Europe already. At least my "Garmin" is supposed to be able to guide me around most European countries. And North America too. Amazing creatures.

The current coverage, pretty well world-wide, is provided by the American GPS constellation of satellites. The future system I referred to is Galileo, European Union owned, currently in the contract awarding stage.
