I got it, Lox, and got a kick out of it. Kat, this one strikes home to me. I just moved to La Veta, CO, kind of a whirlwind thing. New town, new job etc. In fact I only dug my computer out of it's various boxes 24 hours ago. No Mudcatting for me for the last few weeks.
Not to disagree with Will Rogers, but I think it is a matter of perspective. I have actually been considering this move for about six months, (in time for the kids to get in school), but it's funny how time sneaks up on you. I was actually at work when I realized, "hey, if I want to be out of here by August 1, then I have to give my two weeks notice of resignation today! So I did, without a place to live, (I'd been looking), and without a firm job offer. Just kind of trusted it'd all work out, and it did. Got a job as a prison nurse, (sticking convicts with needles and telling them they have to buy their own Tylenol), and found a cool house to rent, owned by Lannie Garrett, a top notch singer up in Denver.
Plus the music scene is really cool in La Veta. I've met several good musicians to jam with, plus my daughter and son in law live here, and they are always up for a jam. We'll also be able to help them with their rapidly growing acoustic instrument amplification business. The whole move is really focused on music more than anything. I am ecstatic.

My Mother, God bless her, would agree with Will Rogers. She tends to think I have acted much too rashly, (quitting my job of the last five years, with State benefits etc). I think I've thought it out pretty well. As I said, it is all a matter of perspective.
