Tommy Douglas was revered more in later years than as NDP leader, and that's because Canada was still influenced by the "reds under the bed" crap coming out of the USA. Anyone close to being to the left had to overcome this handicap. He was a great man and it is truly a shame, but he did well by us with what influence he could muster! Honoured as The Greatest Canadian Of All Time in our hearts and minds today, and rightly so!
