Thread Name: What Bob Dylan Song is This?
Subject: RE: What Bob Dylan Song is This?
"Idiot Wind" is probably the most viciously angry, bitter song that Bob ever wrote (with the possible exception of "Positively 4rth Street"). It's a chilling rant, probably aimed at quite a number of targets (Sara? Fame itself? The music industry? The media? Dylan's more troublesome fans and detractors? Baez? Well...at least some of those for sure...).

It was distinguished by one very notable departure...for almost the first time ever Bob castigated himself as well as the unnamed object of his wrath...

"Idiot Wind...blowin' through the buttons of our coats, blowing through the letters that we wrote, Idiot Wind...blowing through the dust upon our shelves...We're idiots, babe, it's a wonder we can even feed ourselves!"

"Blood On The Tracks" may just be the best album ever recorded, period...but that's only one man's opinion. It's certainly one of Bob's 3 or 4 finest.
