oldude,
I just watched the whole DVD trying to see what guitar I was playing. I do think that is the same D-76 bicentennial Martin that I won in a raffle at the Old Town School Of Folk Music in Chicago. So it cost me 3 dollars!! ($3.00)

Years later, around 1996, I was putting the gig bag with that guitar inside into the trunk of my car and I slammed the trunk lid on it. Getting home, I opened it up and found it looking like matchsticks. Superb guitar builder and repairman extraordinaire, JAN BURDA, in Michigan, put it back together beautifully. Our son, Chris, has it now!

Jan Burda, along with his then wife, Anne Hills, owned the music store where this concert took place--Hogeye Music in Evanston, Illinois.

Anne and Jan sold the store to great singer and picker, JIM CRAIG---who Larry Rand called probably the best singing voice ever to come out of the Chicago Folk Revival scene. Jim operates the fine store there on Central Street even as we speak. He is a prince of a guy.

Oh, Sorry, I digress!!

That is the nine-string guitar. But because my hands were going numb from MS, I had already gone back to six strings to make playing it easier. The last gig I did was at Cafe Carpe in Fort Atkinson , Wisconsin---June 6th, 1997. ---- There was a real chance I'd not be able to do that gig---so Jerry Rasmussen was there to take over--just in case.
