My newphew was reading before he entered kindergarten - then he got into the school system and came home one night and asked me to read him a story....since he had been reading bedtime stories to *ME* for several months (qwe were working our way through 'The Hobbit', I believe) I wondered what the heck was going on....turns out his teacher had informed him he couldn't read because he wasn't old enough.
