For a little variety, serve the french fries or chips with this:

Steak tartare

2 pounds sirloin, finely ground
1 egg
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon capers, drained
Dash Tabasco sauce
1 teaspoon Lea & Perrins Worcestershire
2 tablespoons virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons finely chopped parsley
Salt and white pepper to taste.

Mix egg, onion, capers, mustard, Worcestershire, Tabasco.
Add olive oil and mix thoroughly.
Add meat and parsley, season with salt and white pepper.

Serve with a good red wine.

A French recipe but the Worcestershire adds an English touch.
