As Kath pointed out, the one caveat is that he has to have been admitted to a hospital for three days and transported directly to the nursing facility. The hospital needs to make it clear to Medicare that he was admitted not in the hospital via ER for observation. Dot the Is; cross the Ts; and be willing to do battle first without a lawyer - a lwayer will take a cut of what he saves you.
