Stringsinger, not to challenge you, but what proportion of recruits are already religious? Conservative Christian teaching about such things as patriotism would lead me to think that Christians are overrepresented among recruits, and possibly West Point / ROTC candidates also. Without these kinds of numbers, it's impossible to tell if numbers later in their careers show a prejudice in promotion, or merely an outworking of the numbers of recruits/candidates.
