The sights had serial numbers that ended in ciphers like "J16.6", which were linked to Biblical quotations (James Chapter 16 verse 6). A bit goofy, but to state that these were "scripture verses on rifle sights" makes the soldier users appear to be complicit in something they would not have recognized had it not been brought to their attention. Much ado over nothing in my opinion.
