Anne Lister and Debra Cowan both experimented with low-key fundraising campaigns to finance CDs, and I think their experiments worked very well. Those of us who subscribed, got early downloads of songs as they were recorded. I would think this sort of thing would work best for people with established reputations like Anne and Debra - and yourself. You have a very good name to trade on.
