Possibly of interest for setup of Win7 (and this page may be at one of the links in the above):
Windows 7 in a Box December 29, 2009 (http://www.appscout.com/2009/12/windows_7_in_a_box_gives_you_d.php)
claims to be a free utility that will translate all the new Win7 stuff to something resembling WinXP so that you can find where to make settings until you learn the new Win7 babytalk.
Purports to give advice on initial setup, Win7, Vista, and/or WinXP.
Fair warning: These are all on a commercial magazine site, PC Magazine from Ziff Davis, with lots of popups and popovers. If you can stand the annoyance factor there may be something useful.
A check of my newsletters from "across the sea" didn't find anything that looked like it would be of real interest to you at present; but I may be able to dig further if you don't find help at the ones above.
I haven't had much interest in Win7 yet, so I'm sorry I can't offer any more direct help.
