I was on the point on creating a thread when I saw this one.

Headline in this weeks Sunday Express " BY 'ECK A UKULELE isn't "musical" says OFFSTED.

This reports the view of OFFSTED inspectors who werer asked to judge the merits and suitability of playing the ukulele for gaining music qualifications in a Primary School.

I quote..."ukulele sessions are not adequate musical achievement......
......Music lessons and the curriculum do not provide sufficient challenge and as a result pupils do not make adequate progress. Achievement in music is inadequate............".

I kid you not.....see Sundat Express page 37 Sunday 24th January 2010.
