Thread Name: Tech: Labelling CDs to include track lists
Subject: RE: Tech: Labelling CDs to include track lists
There are multiple ways of doing this. Some ways are easier than others and some may cost a little for software. In some burning software there is a box to check if you want text burned to the CD along with the music. One does not have to do this to get a music CD but I like having the song titles and artist information on the CD with the music. It is also helpful in some labeling programs that will read the CD text and create labels. I use the Acoustica labeling software which is not all that expensive and will read the CD text, if it is encoded, and can handle lightscribe and also printing to printable CDs or paste on labels if you choose to use them. It also creates nice looking labels for jewel cases and will use whatever images you choose. It will also look up information on albums on the internet. With the software the design processes and printing are quite simple. That software also offers a free trial so one can test the program to see if it works for you. I have also tried several things to insure that text is encoded correctly and have finally settled on a freeware program called Media Monkey. The filename is easy to establish but does not automatically become the encoded name. Media Monkey allows one to copy the file name for the encoded name and also makes it easy to encode a number of tracks in a batch together.
