Here's a bit more information on the Jazz4Haiti Charity Concert in New Brighton, Merseyside, which I mentioned above.

Tony Davis, late of the Spinners folk group, is organising a charity jazz concert for the Haiti earthquake victims. The concert will take place at The Floral Pavilion, New Brighton on Sunday 21st February, starting 2-30pm. Tickets will be £10-00 and nine local jazz bands have pledged their support. They include The Big Easy, Blue Magnolia Jazz Orchestra, Merseysippi Jazz Band, Panama jazz Band, Down Town Dixielanders, Peninsula Jazz Band, Tony Davis jazz Band, The Wirrorleans and The Savoy Jazz Band. Ricky Tomlinson, star of the tv comedy series, The Royle Family, will be compering the show.

All moneys raised will be donated to the British Red Cross Earth Quake Appeal, and all musicians, staff and volunteers are donating their services for free.

Tickets are now available from local jazz sessions, or direct from The Floral Pavilion, phone number 0151 666 0000. They can also be booked on-line at http://www.floralpavilion.com/ .
