Passion's not the only redeeming quality that a culture can have. If all cultures were equally passionate, passion would become boring.

Beethoven's music is passionate, and I love his music, but sometimes I need a calmer sort of beauty, like a lot of Bach's music. I don't see why it needs to be any different with folk cultures.
