Thread Name: Lyr Req: Whispering Jesse
Subject: Whispering Jesse
One of the sadest facts I believe to know: There are many things that would cheer us up if we only were able to remember them. The reason for not remembering them is that they didn't seem important at the very moment we experienced them, and so they were forgot.

But later when something reminds you of that experience you may get some very (what was the word I recently learned from you?) wistful (!) feeling. Also some sad feeling, because you think that if there were more things like these you remembered (or were reminded of) you would be a whole lot more cheerful in general.

Do you know what I mean?

One example for things like these are songs. And one example for songs like these is 'Whispering Jesse' once done (also written?) by John Denver, God rest his soul. Does anybody know the lyrics? The tune 'still sounds in my ear'. I did a forum search for 'whispering jesse', and the only result was this (hoping the clicky works). Is that song completely forgotten? (Buck also mentioned Gilette's 'Darcy Farrow' there: Is that similar? ... What?? ... Where??? ... *drooling* ...)

When I think of 'Whispering Jesse' I am also reminded of a song I once (ONCE!) heard him perform, a song with the passage "don't close your eyes tonight". It was at a short appearance in german TV; they had him do this one single song, those barbarians. And I never heard this song again, I only remember that the tune was great (of course no chance to memorize it) - barbarians everywhere.

Is there any non-barbarian who can help me?

Love in advance

Joerg
